Colourful Debates

Feedback Received!

Just some thoughts I wrote a couple of months back after reading through some very messy social media debates that solved nothing but generated a lot of conflict.

Belittled by non-specifics egregious in motive, arguably emotional and basic held in media social with discussion hidden under feature creep named retweets, reshares, favourites, emoji’s, hashtags, all promoted by people famous.

It’s like researching projects using only the list of contents or writing essays about other people you referenced without context like what good is a plate of words you’ve picked from, missing half the point of experiencing a different perspective.

These conversations are like crumbs of bread left on the forest detritus leading not to a witch’s kitchen but the overlapping sense that being right is just whoever is the loudest or whose numbers hit the highest promoted making mainstream news for being popularist, not a conversation starter.

Now onto specifics, colour, ubuntu’s gimmick, making suckers disavow that which connects us in exchange for hysteria and rebuttal of those wearing skin stained by ancestors whose actions last long and are unscrubbable.

Apparently the past is presentable and regardless that it’s tailored or in tatters we’ll run the lot of them ragged like book cover jackets scribbled over like Dorian’s portrait cos the contents are secondary and just don’t matter, for actions are the loudest and what we read now affects us presently in protest that the same people leading us represent that which divides us so instead of critiquing this let’s now deliver comeuppance to post-generational lambs we’ve isolated for the slaughter.
