W9D1 Done! Yay! First 5K under 30 minutes! Officially Graduated! (I think)

I was caught in the middle of the storm this morning and got myself soaking wet....I waited until noon to run the W9D1 (or my 'new regular' 5K) and my shoes and socks were still freaking wet. I didn't want to run with wet shoes!!!!!! Well, the guilt of not running trump all doubts and concerns. I dragged my lazy ass from the office chair and went out to the track field for that 5K.

Luckily, the weather was nice (not hot as hell) after the storm, so I tried to push myself a bit by trying to speed up. Of course, I felt sore after the first THREE MINUTES.....Well, the rest was just a long and stupid mind game with my own brain. I really pushed myself this time and pushed myself to the limit during the last 1K. I DID IT! I FREAKING DID IT!

29 minutes and 45 seconds! New personal record and new milestone for my journey. Now, I feel like a legit runner.

I had my first 30min non-stop run on W7D2 and first 5K on W7D3 (37 minutes for 5K).

It actually took me entire Week 8 for my body to get familiar with the 5K running.

W8D1: 41 minutes/5K; W8D2: 33 minutes/5K; W8D3: 31 minutes/5K.

If I can do this, so can you! Remember the fact that I joined this sub 2 months ago with absolutely zero running experiences. I used to be a 270 lbs Asian (-Asian people tend to be thin right? -NOOOOO!) male and a total coach potato.

9 weeks later, I can run like a runner! Trust the program and believe in yourself. You got this! We got your back!

I am afraid that I cannot provide any expert advice...hell, I just started this journey 2 months ago.

But if you ever need some motivation or just someone to talk to, hit me up.

We are in this together. We got each other's back. We support each other.

I am thrilled to motivated someone here haha. Motivation plays a key role in maintaining my running routine. But sometimes you just need to go for it and push yourself a little or a lot harder when you need to beat the old personal record.

I am looking forward to see your progress! Keep up running and always pushing forward!
