They waited a few days but someone started whitewashing Boogie's history

I knew Boogie would call in a favor and have that censored eventually. He was pissed when it first was added to his page. He mentioned it on stream and said something like "you know I can just have that edited out, right?"

Hah. I never heard him say that. You gotta clip that shit, bro.

It was 1 or 2 days after the Lucy video was released. He was playing wow in what appeared to be the wetlands going in and out of a dwarven structure. Thats when he said it.

Based on that description think I got it.

@1h30m20s

Somebody said, "Boogie is controversial". Well, you should check my Wikipedia page. Someone emailed me and said "We got your Wikipedia page, you motherfucker" And they put a couple of edits on my Wikipedia page called "Controversies section". So I'm apparently so controversial my Wikipedia page has a section called "Controversies". That's how controversial I am. So I think it's a fair assessment. But this guy writes a shitty, passive aggressive email. It's hysterical. "We got your Wikipedia page". Who cares? Ok. Alright then. We edited this group of 1's and 0's to another group of 1's and 0's. Alright. You know I can just go edit that, right? ...But I'm not going to. It's like I don't care.

@1h31m48s

"It sounds like you care". I do. I care. What I care about is how hysterical [...]. What I care about is how hysterical it is that someone took the time to send that email. I think it's hysterical that someone took the time to edit the Wikipedia page. It's soooo funny. It's soooo funny that someone is like

@1h32m15s

"I'm going to get him. I'm going to ruin his day. I'm going to edit his Wikipedia page and then I'm going to email him and tell him of my nefarious deeds. For I am a villain... or... I am a HERO! I am the best boy in town." Ok. Yes.

@1h32m51s

"I am the ultimate bad guy in this story. I made him feel realy really bad." ... "Seems like you’re feeding trolls by talking about it." Yes! That's exactly what I'm doing. In case you guys didn't notice that's one of my biggest issues in life. I LOVE FEEDING THE TROLLS. I LOVE. I LOVE IT. I don't know why. I don't know why. It's eventually going to be the end of me. That's eventually going to be what ruins my career. Is that I keep these guys so entertained and... so... fucking... You know, I'm almost as bad as WingsOfRedemption when it comes to that. Wings feeds the trolls everyday. Literally that is his entire stream. Waking up and feeding the trolls, and then going back to bed. So I probably need to learn to do better but I don't

Huh?

2
THCequivalant•

on his wiki. he had a section about his abuse claim against lucy. it was deleted, and in turn, they inserted how he is a registered republican but voted for the green party

Boogie was a super liberal when it was the popular thing on the internet. With the recent rise of alt-right shit and having money, Boogie has changed a lot in his politics. He is going to keep flip flopping and aiming at the center as much as he can to keep everyone happy.

THCequivalant•

Even if he voted republican, he wouldn't admit it

does anyone find it suspicious that the person who made this deletion has a username ending with "1138" which is only two digits removed from "1488"?

THX

CORRECTION: Just noticed some of the references are incorrectly formatted/attributed. It's actually 17 of the 31 (54%) are references to YouTube videos. Honorable mention to 6 Boogie tweet references, making ~74% of the references WP:SELFSOURCE.

Someone should flag those seventeen sources for the same reason. #Justice4Lucy

He voted for Jill Stein lmao

They're using the excuse that the only source is Youtube so it doesn't count. Even though the sources for the majority other information is also from Youtube. Seems there is a bias here with whoever is editing the page, and they are biased towards protecting Boogie's reputation for whatever reason.

11
maratango•

That's funny, they use Twitter for sources all the time. Why the bias against direct YouTube sources?

5
Skarekrows•

Now when they beg for donations I'm going to ignore it even harder.

In addition to what u/HaberdasherA said, the page hasn't been locked (meaning anyone is still free to contribute to it) however since my post a couple people have tried to reinstate the section only for others to come along to enforce its removal. Constantly reverting reverts is bad form so those involved really should take it to the page's Talk page (a meta page where people can discuss suggestions or resolve problems relating to the Article page) rather than argue in the comments of edits. Although it's probably not worth the effort as one of the people that enforced the removal of the section has decided to nominate the entire page for deletion. Something that feels likely to happen as over 70% of the references are self-sourced (i.e. from Boogie's YouTube and Twitter) which, while tolerated for the occassional point, can be seen as an indication of the topic lacking notability as reputable secondary sources are prefered.

UPDATE: The page is now semi-protection for 24hrs which restricts who can contribute.

That's kind of the pro and con of Wikipedia. The rules are more a set of guidelines and how strrictly they're enforced is down to how much of an ego trip those involved are on. In this case it looks like the original page avoided deletion as someone took the effort to add sources and those involved saw that as good enough reason to leave it alone.

Looks like Boogie is running away from the truth again.

Pity that's the only running I see him doing.

4
RossBoss95•

Damn they really removed his controversy section. Anyone got a screencap

3
SonnacOP•

You can just look at a historic revision.

3
IterImpius•

Someone removed it lol

1
SonnacOP•

Looks like the editors have already stubified his article. Well, good thing the page was archived (more backups)

Apparently a person's own words isn't good enough citation? I'm sure we can get an article published and cite it "for real."
