-Reviver-
How can one rightfully mourn
a soul never known?
Sparked
by the pain of an acquaintance
displayed in a way
I hadn’t replicated,
not even for my own

Selected and communicated
I chose the face that fit,
pressing deeper,
page by page,
absorbing, reflecting
until the pain hit

Her depth was
tangible, human,
feral,
actual and brilliant
My heart grew as warm
as it was heavy and empty
reflecting on memories
which were never created
in the first place

I remember
the sea that helped you float
all the way up
to the waterfalls
to muse
to create your iridescence

Were you resting on it’s tide
or swimming against the current?

It must have been beautiful
on top of it all.
worthy of a photograph,
Or was it enough
to stay and breathe it in,
to stop whirling,
to float back down
finding peace once again?
