stick sizes, what's everyone using?
my son is 5'6 and is using a Warrior 23.5" stick.
I thought it was a bit short last year but he just got off the ice and said it's fine. What are your opinions on this? As long as he's comfortable?

I'm a little shorter than you and have always played with a stick that's too large (26") but was too afraid to change. Thanks for this insight.
edit: punctuation
I'm 5'7" and was using ~26" sticks for awhile because that's just what I always had. Recently got a shorter stick and it's been incredible. It's been easier to keep on the ice during a butterfly and I can handle the puck so much better.
Here's the difference between the two sticks.
Oh but what about all the saves I make using the butt end of the stick!
I do love those accidental saves, but it can also backfire. I decided to finally to get a shorter stick when I deflected a shot into the net that way.
I'm almost 5'8", I have a 24.5" Bauer. I totally agree that it requires me to focus on keeping the blade on the ice (which normally leads to a stronger lower body position). I also found that with taller paddles I can't have my arm at the correct angle when I'm in butterfly which leads to a larger hole under my elbow.
Yep, it's a little give and take sometimes. A bigger stick can keep you more upright in your stance but for me just feels super awkward when in the b-fly. Shorter stick maybe hunches you over a tick in your stance but I feel so much more in control for 5 hole coverage AND pokechecks. I like to handle the puck too and it's cumbersome with a bigger stick.
