Tito or Barco?
Now who starts? I think Tito has shown time and again that he deserves a starting spot. Gressel at times is an assist machine. Who starts?

Good problem to have... I think Barco will be on the bench again Friday and then could be back starting the game after... probably both start and Julian ends up as sub, but we will see

I'd love to see some rotation. Get gressel and even miggy some rest. But Tata tends to roll out the top 11 every game no matter what.

Larry sits, Remedi plays the 6, Gressel slots into the other CM spot until Nagbe comes back. Josef, Tito, Miggy, Barco are the best 4 attackers.
When Nagbe comes back it should be a rotation of Tito/Barco/Gressel for those two SAM positions. Gressel seems odd man out to me but he's a really good player. I'd almost prefer him at RB to Escobar if he had some experience in that position.
I also don't think we should undersell the value of fresh legs late either. Depending on the opponent (fucking Red Bull) we might hold Barco or Tito out because either of those two can torch a tired defense. Gressel is probably less dangerous in that regard.

This is the right answer in my opinion.
Larry is a cult hero here for a lot of reasons that’d I’d agree with, but he’s been getting caught out of position a LOT. That Zardes goal yesterday was on him and there were several times our back line was directly exposed. That space between the midfield and Parky/LGP is his to get into and dominate and at times he’s no where to be found.
Remedi is given license to go a little further forward but I honestly think it’d be best to let Remedi play the 6 since he can cover twice the ground of Larry. Larry is a cool customer on the ball and a legend at tackling but he’s 36 and at times the amount of space in the midfield makes that a little obvious.

I get semi when I think of Remedi at the 6 playing those long diagonals. I really can't wait to see him and Nagbe together I just hope its before the end of this season and Miggy is still here.

Plus, I'd rather have fresh legs Larry for the last bit of the season than too tired to run Larry. I am the same age and you just don't recover as quick. Even as a top notch athlete in a top notch training facility.
I would love to see a fresh Larry subbing in at 70 minutes when we are up by two in the playoffs

Definitely. I am not at all comfortable with Miles and Kratz being the two defensive subs (until Garza comes back and McCann is bumped back to the bench).

Do we trust Remedi to not get caught out of position though? Yeah he's much faster than Jeff but he also ventures wayyyy further and patrols a lot more ground. I've seen him run down guys everywhere from the opponents' 18 to our endline, sideline to sideline.

So you put that goal all on Larry, and not Parky? He was the last man in front of Zardes.

That’s not Parkhursts responsibility to ensure that Zardes doesn’t get that ball in that much space. Larry is the one responsible for shielding the backline and they were left insanely exposed.

I was hoping for gressel at RB. I know his 1v1 defense is not up to standard but his work rate and tenacity are top notch. And he would still get the same amount of assist opportunities as well.

Exactly. Escobar's defense doesn't seem that much better to me. But now isn't really the time to be experimenting. Julian already plays two positions for us.

The biggest concern with sitting Larry is that we are short... like super short. He is one of a handful of players who are not short... not sure we can get away with missing him in the air

Tito has to start on the right. The team looked so much better when he moved over. I say sit Gressel and start Barco on the left and Tito on the right.

Barco needs to continue to play... he is here for the long haul because we are not selling him the first 2 years.
I still like the idea of Gress at RWB... once Nagbe gets back in. Remedi takes over the 6 for Larry for now and Gress in the middle. Tito/Barco/Miggy/Josef are the 4 up top....

I think at some point we should give Larentowicz a rest and see how Gressel and Remedi play next to each other in Central Midfield.
