Warning Signs

The signs said,

DANGER

BEWARE DEEP WATER

As if a man might read.

Even with those crystal clear

Contents, he'd still jump.

THIN ICE - KEEP OFF

As if a man'd obey.

Even though the birds made cracks

Around them, he'd still play

And sure as day,

Deep waters ripple

Where ice, thin, cracked;

Bubbles rise up

As the fool

Slowly

Falls.
