A Potentially Amazing Next Four Days for Us

  1. Tonight we have our two biggest Shield opponents playing each other which guarantees one or both will drop points. RBNY could finally lose their games in hand advantage on us with a draw or a loss, and if they win, we have a serious leg up over NYC on CCL qualification. A true win-win.

  2. Friday we can beat OC at the OrLandfill once again with Josef potentially breaking multiple records.

  3. That night we have El Trafico Pt. 3 which is always fun.

  4. Sunday we have RBNY playing an on-fire DC United in a rivalry match on short rest.

  5. And to top it all off, we get to kick back and watch what should be a damn good Cascadia Derby.

And with the positive updates on Nagbe and Garza as well as the return of Barquito, the times they are good for the Five Stripe faithful :)

I’m traveling to Orlando to see the game/go to Disney lol and I AM SO EXCITED. I bought red and black pom poms, gonna make some Will Johnson puppets, wear my Atlanta United flower crown, I am ready for Josef to break that record (knock on wood)!!!!!!!!!

Will you be selling the puppets post game? Interested.

lol let me clarify, they’ll just be laminated photos of Will Johnson’s face on a stick. I just call them puppets at my school with my kiddos, didn’t know what to call them haha. I’ll make some extra to hand out though if anyone wants some! Will probably make some Josef ones of him from the valentine’s day shoot too

All I care about right now is NYCFC dropping points to give us that >2 point lead for CCL qualification.

Both New York teams drew tonight, so that helps us. Now we just need to win on Friday to be even more ahead.

And NYC picked up two red cards. Near perfect result in that match for us.

Indeed. Onwards to us beating Orlando on Friday!

Josef potentially breaking multiple records

Multiple records? What else is he on the verge of breaking besides goals?

With 1 goal he would set the single-season scoring record at 28, tie Diego Valeri’s 9-game scoring streak record and extend to 10 games the MLS road scoring streak record he already holds.

With 3 goals he would set the single-season hat-trick record at 4.

With 4 goals he would reach 50 MLS goals in just 46 games, obliterating the current record of 67 games.

Holy crap! I didn't realize he was already this close to 50 MLS goals!

The most shocking thing there is that he doesn't already hold the single season hat trick record.

Well, if he scores a goal, he breaks that record.

If he scores a second goal, he breaks the single season goal record, previously set by Josef Martinez in 2018.

If he scores a third goal, he breaks the single season goals and hat trick record, both previously set by Josef Martinez in 2018.

scoring in consecutive games, hat tricks in a single season, hat tricks in a career, goals in a season, most team points in a single season if we stay on pace, and my hype meter.

I know it’s something to do with hat tricks and maybe consecutive games with a goal

Couldn't care less about #s 3 and 5

But Beverage Outlet here in Augusta finally started carrying Rowdy and Proud and Match Day Red, so you're quite right it's a Golden Age for Five Stripes Nation.

Hey someone else in Augusta Whoot Whoot

villeunited#5 - Leandro González Pirez•

Fellow Augustan. Where is Beverage Outlet? Do you watch games with the Tin Lizzy’s crowd?

1
Tra1famadorian•

Haven't watched any matches with the Augusta TL (just realized Terminus Legion and Tin Lizzy's has the same initials so holy shit) group but I have a buddy or two that does occasionally. I am not overfond of our sad attempt at a chain cantina when we actually have fucking good, authentic Mexican places. Side note: I actually went to Carolina Ale House with my dad for the last match at Disney World and there was a decent number (more than 10 but less than 20 I didn't do a head count but for this city nightlife that's a crowd) people there geared up and watching it. Was pretty dope.

Usually for road games I do a cookout/pool party. Get it rowdy but quality family and friends time as well.

Edit: oh and Beverage Outlet is in one of those little strip buildings near the Wal Mart on Bobby Jones. I'm pretty sure any of our dozen Wal Marts you go to will have a liquor store less than two blocks away.

Nice. Ok. Can’t wait for my invite.

You must submit an application and begin a rigorous initiation that begins with several rounds of disc golf.
