The Seed

Susan went down to the river to pray.

She got out her Bible to study the Word.

She firmly believed there was only one Way

and all other ways she dismissed as absurd.

But down by the river she saw a big tree.

All of a sudden it started to burn.

A woman’s voice told her to tread carefully.

“Listen my child for now you shall learn.

--

I AM THAT I AM and not one way is right.

Do you grow tired of living a lie?”

Susan looked onto a stabbing bright light.

Blinded and fearful she thought she would die.

Susan said “Please LORD have mercy on me.

I promise to follow wherever You lead.”

God said “Reach out and touch this burning tree”.

Susan was instantly turned to a seed.

Out of the ashes her little seed grew.

Susan’s life slowed to the pace of an oak.

Some tried to find her but nobody knew

Susan's tree stood on the spot where God spoke.
