Ya. I bought them from Home Depot as a sprout.  Maybe the shade from their hammocks made them darker? They where almost completely covered. 

Sugar Babies?  I also grew some, but they didn't get as dark as yours.  I have seen some sugar babies that are almost black.  Mine are lighter green with darker stripe.

Some of you may remember my watermelons from their popular hammock picture. They only grew to about the size of cannonballs, but they taste good.  Next year I will use a bigger container.
