[2,800] Goats Go to Hell

This is the first chapter of a novel I've written. I'm really trying to perfect the opening and have done countless rewrites, so basically I'm at a point where I've read it so many times it hardly makes sense anymore and needs some outside perspective haha. Any feedback is more than appreciated!! Just to give you a frame of reference, it's about a group of skateboarders in Los Angeles 1992 who start a radical/controversial skateboard magazine. The plot is important, but without a doubt this is a character piece. Anyway, that's pretty broad, but it gives you an idea of where I'm going with it. Thanks in advance for the feedback!
