Rush Our
Driving home, "Be there soon"
Looking up, dark clouds loom
Weatherman- so full of shit
We both know this storm will never quit
Flashing lights, weather delays
The high road beckons another way
Unable to turn, the wheel wont budge
Shadows feed this omnipotent grudge
Tendrils of consciousness loosen their grip
As my heartbeat slows to a mere drip, drip, drip
Ethereal raindrops splash onto my face
Waking me to this alien convergence of time and space
Through the front door
A storm is raging
The carpet's wet
and Our love fading
A phantom memory of our blissful daughter
No complaints as she treads the rising water
Forgive first before we drown
Holding breath until love is found
The beauty burns away the endless dark
Two sober hearts desperate for a single spark
Rummage through the coffers of your soul
Only to realize you've always had control
Show the gatekeer that shimmering key
Vulnerable are we to the whim of his empathy
Follow the light to higher ground
For once trust the promise of solace bound
Crawling to land remmeber this measurable pain
In all of us remnants of shadows remain
Though risk of a darkened tomorrow
This might you may forever barrow
A passanger with you, often I'm unseen
Wake up Adam, the light just turned green.
