Bearded dragons and cat doors

Our beardie is nearly a year old and 16" long, and he loves to roam around our living room. We have cats but they're scared of him and we keep a close eye on them. We do have a cat door though, and I'm wondering if anyone has had a beardie climb through one before. Roaming inside we can handle, but we don't want him going outside without closer supervision so if he can climb out we want to keep the door closed and locked while he roams.

I would be amazed if your beardie could figure out the mechanics of a doorway. Mine runs full speed into the legs of tables and chairs and thinks the carpet is food.

I doubt they could figure it out, but mine has a tendency to try to climb up the walls lol and I'm always worried he will stand up in front of the dog door unintentionally and end up pushing it outward. So I always put the door cover thing on our dog door when I let my beardie out to play.
