Kill Team advice

I have a friendly tournament tomorrow and I've not had time to tune my kill team. At the moment I've got the following:

Warrior leader, boneswords and deathspitter

Lictor, veteran specialist

Warrior, gunner specialist, venom cannon and scything talons

Genestealer, compat specialist, acid maw, scything and rending

and 4 hormaganuts to fill out the points.

Any suggestions to give me some more teeth would be appreciated.

We're allowing unpainted, as everyone is new to kill team and still building and painting. I have parts for two more warriors and more genestealers as well. I've got gaunt parts a plenty.

Seems fine for friendly games. Warrior gunner isn’t a specialism, it’s a slightly modded data sheet that lets them take a cannon. Make it either a heavy or a comms depending on how mobile you want to be with it.

Add flesh hooks to warriors and lictor. They’re free.

The tldr that some people around killteam think is all tyranids should ever bring is 1 warrior with 19 Hormagaunts.

The thought had crossed my mind. :P

I know only 1 genestealers can have flesh hooks per kill team. Where does it say 1 overall flesh hooks per team?

Lictors come stock with flesh hooks, would that mean you can only take 1 lictor?

I was thinking of having a venom cannon on my leader warrior to keep him out of harms way whilst still contributing to the fight. Not played a game yet still making my team :-)

I run mine with a Venom Cannon. The multiple shots and range on it are useful. Vaporized the opponent's sniper specialist turn 2 of my first game. Just try to keep him alive long enough to matter when your CC guys get into range.

Venom cannon is really good in kill team I feel, on my first game I one-shotted my opponent's comms and sniper in one firing phase using the heavy tactic and my comm's +1, it was pretty cool haha

I'd swap the Lictor & stealer specialism.

a veteran Lictor finds himself far too up field too early .. it's good but it's not a tank and if you kill yourself out of combat and can't find cover then you're going to get shot by the enemy heavys really quick.

A stealer on the other hand is much smaller and harder to spot and can be taken for granted, while the enemy positions to try and take out a patrolling Lictor, who you should be using as a massive threat to pick off strays and just threaten the enemy .. if you can get him into multiple enemy models in one go .. then he earns his points!
