Looking to re-home my two GCCs. No fee, just want to find them the perfect new home. (Manhattan, NY)
I've had these conures for about two years and they were a few months old when I got them. They were really great while I had the energy and time to spend on them. I taught them some tricks and we had a great relationship. But for the past 6 months or so, I haven't been focusing on them like I used to and don't really think they're getting a rich and stimulating life anymore. Further, I find them becoming more and more of a hassle, getting in the way of my other priorities. I feel bad to abandon them like this but at this point, it seems like the best option for both me and the birds, granted I can find a great new home for them.
Now, about the little guys. One is a male turquoise GCC named Newton and the other is a Yellow Sided GCC who's gender I don't know for sure but my guess is male, named Tesla. Newton is extremely friendly and out going, will fly to you constantly and demand attention. Tesla, on the other hand, is very shy and while he is fine being handled and will step up and all that, he'll often fly away and prefer to be on his own. They will both spin around on the command 'spin around' and Newton will scratch his head on the command 'scratch.' They'll also fly to your hand on command but it takes some repetition and coaxing.
They are super close with each other. More so then either is to me so I'm insistent on keeping them together through the rehoming. I think they would be much more negatively affected by being separated from each other than separated from me.
I'd also prefer someone who has prior parrot experience and even has some birds already.
So if you live in New York City and are looking to adopt two wonderful conures, please reach out. Let me know if you have any questions, would like details about anything, or pictures.
