How do Open Christians address what the Bible says about homosexuality?

Hi, I'm trans and bi and I'm scared to death that I'd be sinning if I got a girlfriend as opposed to a boyfriend and I thank God that trans issues aren't in the Bible (outside the old jewish laws, possibly)

I'm new to Christianity and to Progressive Christianity in particular (I found a Lutheran church on gaychurch.org that finally isn't telling me I'm sinning by treating the worst pain in my life)

Like, my conscience says it's okay to be gay, but I'm scared that contradicts what's in the Bible.
