Flung
You’ve been here since the beginning of this dreadful roller-coaster
With no end.
The sullen feel of you is always around me, your cold touch
On my skin.
Your every thought haunts my mind; my lips hold a curse - your words
On my tongue.
Stuck on a ride whose only ticket is yours.
Your brazen entrance is unwelcome, the whole of you overwhelms
With darkness.
I am flung. My thoughts are enchanted by your words. I am consumed
With numbness.
I am flung. My actions are enthralled by your movements. I feel your intentions
In my fingers.
Boundaries guide you to the exit, yet onward you go.
Thoughtlessly you set me aside, too cruel to ask:
What is it I want?
I am flung. On the edge, I hear your thoughts so often I wonder:
Are they mine?
I am flung. I am frozen. I am ready. Ready to feel something, or
Am I finally ready to feel nothing?
Deafening screams remind us - you’re completely unwelcome here.
Darkness scatters as from my presence you depart
Just as before.
I slowly reclaim my mind and sensations as my body thaws
Once again.
A shimmering of light appears, yet, only for a moment - stuck on
This roller-coaster
With no end. The feel of you is always around me, your cold touch has me
Flung.
