Unfinished Compositions Thread!

This thread is for posting unfinished compositions:

  • pieces you don't know how to finish
  • pieces you don't want to finish
  • pieces you didn't finish in time for a past challenge (you can still post them in the challenge thread late when you finish them, but come the new month, feel free to post your progress for last month)
  • etc.

Ask for advice where you need it. You can post no matter how little you have. This is a place to learn and grow!

So this started out as as simple idea in G major, but as I just let it write it self, it has divulged into a myriad of scales. I think I've written myself into a corner, and I'd love ideas for how I should progress and how to fix some of the hokey transitions.

Hello, r/MonthlyComposition!

Here's something I've been working on for the past couple weeks.

I don't have a whole lot of experience and I don't know a ton of music theory, but I have composed before. Here's the (kind of messy) score.

Areas in which I would like to improve, in no particular order: uniqueness, how cohesive it all is, transitions, effectively utilizing different instruments/sounds. There's probably a ton of other areas as well. I'm not sure exactly how to proceed from this point, and I feel like I might want to change the last bit, even.

Any feedback from anyone with any level of experience is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi there! It looks like you didn't upload your file correctly. Maybe you could try uploading the file to google drive and posting a link to that?
