In need of a Brand Manager

I started a sports media company about 3 years ago and our social media and engagement numbers are great. But I don't know how to scale up the business. I want to get sponsorships, endorsements, and eventually sell merch but I need to get the company bigger and get more cash flow.

I feel like I need a brand manager or a strategist that will help me with this but I don't know where to find one. I just put an ad on indeed for someone but beyond that and perusing linked in I'm not sure where to look.

Where did you find your brand manager? Where would you suggest I look to find one? Or maybe I don't need a brand manager? I don't know...content creation is taking so much of my time that I need someone to help level us up. More money means I can hire some content creators and expand our reach.

I want to level this business up I just need some help. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I'm just picturing a blog, is that an incorrect assumption?

I want to get sponsorships, endorsements, and eventually sell merch but I need to get the company bigger and get more cash flow.

If my assumption is correct, all of these things are easy if you already have millions of views per month. If you don't have millions of views per month, you should focus on your core business before looking to branch out.

Hey thanks for responding. We do have a blog but we get most of our content is video content (Youtube, ig, fb) and we just started a podcast which is picking up. We aren't doing millions of views a month. But our interaction is good and numbers are climbing.

The content is centered around local amateur athletes and for the area I feel we are the top sports media company. So I'm hoping to get local businesses and sponsors. But I'm in an area where if you aren't connected to people its hard to get your foot in the door to talk to the right person. That's why I was hoping for a brand manager to help with this. But maybe that's not the correct course of action.

Maybe I need to keep grinding until we get bigger. Or focus on getting more followers/subs/views.

I know it's not the sexy advice but it's true, if you become an authority in your space then all of the ancillary questions you are asking will answer themselves. What I mean by this is that you will not have to worry about how to find companies that may want to advertise with you, they will reach out to you. If your primary product is content, focus solely on making the highest quality content possible. The more you do that, the more other things will work themselves out.

Yeah its not the sexy answer but it was kind of what I was thinking I probably needed to do. I thought maybe a brand manager could help but they can't produce numbers that aren't at a certain level. I will just have to figure out a way to keep things going while increasing the content. I was hoping for sponsorship and endorsements to help so we can get more camera men, equipment, and help shift the editing load but we'll just keep pushing and optimizing. Maybe I need to figure out ways to work smarter. Like optimizing all of our social media channels so that we are getting the best production and use of our content. Back to work I go. Thanks for your insight and being honest.
