Scribble

​

By the time I find a piece of paper

I will know what I want to say.

by the time I find a pen to go with it,

I'll have one thought that's here to stay.

I'll scribble it down for you,

Word by word - the universe simple and bare.

The wait for the punchline is torturous,

It's meant to make you stumble and stare.

It could be solid proof of a ruse,

Our reality is just playing charades,

You're just going along with it because

last night you stayed up too late.

In fact you haven't slept in days,

Too many mysteries to solve before bed

And an answer to each one of them

Would feel more like a threat.

​

You have no reason to believe

the future is a thing that'll happen,

The concequnces sure bring novelty,

unlikely that some sense would stop them,

It could be art if you don't grasp it,

If only this thought isn't fleeting,

if only it does not go past me,

The muse - a turn-off that's so teasing.
