Mentos

I like the original mint Mentos.
You know?
The ones in the light-blue coloured packets.
None of that mixed fruit shit.
What I really hate though,
is when the end doesn’t quite open
the way it’s meant to.
Like I have all day to fuck with a small foil tab,
as if I didn’t just buy these from a servo
to reach the $5 eftpos limit that
prevented me from purchasing a bottle of water.
I should have paid with cash.

And speaking of that servo,
When I cleaned my windscreen that water was filthy.
I mean, it was fucking gross.
Left my windscreen streaky and brown
as if I had driven through a rain storm and dust storm
at the same damn time.
Plus, some moron was smoking
right next to the bowser.
I smelt that acrid scent
and just stared at the idiot,
wordlessly, because I had
three mint Mentos in my mouth.
