Like a bird
Like a bird, refusing to fly If my body betrays me, surely I die As seasons changed, I still was to meek I wanted to leave but my wings were too weak
Now what is left, in this nest of nope My only way out is a necklace of rope Slowly it broke, floating away No where to stand, falling one day
My mind was once, like water so clear But the poison, fell from your eye like a tear What did you say, how was it said Moving a point with ill words of the dead
Like snakes venom, inside my eye You blind me, from seeing a lie It hurts, but what shall I do Feel anger? perhaps you were blind too
My question today is one of concern Did you happen to feel this ravishing burn Did it tear you up like a knife in your chest Or did you awaken by pain, from your rest
Like a bird, choosing to fly Trusting myself, even though I might die
