Note to Self: Get a Pen
Note To Self: Get a Pen
I'm serious, go, get a pen
one that suits your style
don't spend a lot on it
price is no substitute for comfort
gotta feel relaxed in hand
while you scribble and jot;
too fat and it sits awkwardly
an unwieldy testament to force
a wider style of handwriting out
too slim and it may fly
from hand to cramped writing
words without appropriate spacing.
Gel, fine point, fountain, quill,
it matters, gotta feel right.
1 millimeter writes widely,
words start to pool, muddled,
fountain drags and scratches
I don't want my words
to have texture, only meaning.
Quill? I'm no pretentious scribe.
Aye, a fine ball-point gliding
instrumental to my chicken scratch
0.5 millimeters, oh so fine.
This cheap piece of plastic
fails to weigh as heavy
as the lines I wish I'd write.
Here I wait, in line
Bitching about 75 cent pens.
