A plea for help?

Here I sit, so bored out of mind

and I think about how to spend all of my time.

Writing comes to mind,

as it usually does,

but without inspiration I am just going in blind.

And there I go again,

using the crutch everyone is using.

looking for a rhyming word, just right for the choosing

not wanting to stray from the path.

But what do I do?

I don't know what marks a poem,

can't see the line that splits poetry

from an ill suited story.

I want to improve,

I just don't know how!

I can't think of a word,

so I am just going to write cow.

I see the great works written by artists,

with lines so brilliant they prove they are the smartest.

I wish I could be them, just for one day.

so help a guy out?
