all are strangers now to me

traipsing through an empty earth
slowly watch the stars give birth
to darkness
every body dies
even celestial ones
only now there's no one left to ask
to lie and watch them die with me
stare into the sky and bask
in awe of all I cannot see.
i'm sure it's quite spectacular
to watch their souls depart
but from where i sit
they no more than sputter then
cease to all to be.
as all succumb to darkness
every body dies
especially celestial ones
and while it can be beautiful without a doubt
most are for too far removed from me
for me to give a fuck about.
