This one's for those of us who are unsure of, but believe in, ourselves.
Fireman.
Halfway through school,
We’re forced to choose what we wanna do.
For the rest of our lives,
Choose an occupation with the rest of the hive.
Your friends seem so sure of themselves,
That’s a lie - they need more help than ourselves.
Everyone seems to be on the straight and narrow,
But you can’t even find a damn arrow.
Like we’re seventeen going on seventy,
Make a choice now - it won’t end in tragedy.
Sit in front of a book for a couple more years,
If not, go and destroy your body, eyes and your ears.
No one can help, they’re all just saying the same,
Forget living your life, this just ain’t no game.
Parents, teachers, who you thought were your heros,
Force you into making a decision, it’s better than zeros.
But zero in the bank, is sometimes a hundred in the mind,
Look out for yourself, watch your own behind.
Because everyone’s in this rat race, this dirty, monotonous game,
Fuck everyone playing along, I’ll make my own damn lane.
