So I’m going to get amateur artist up in here.

The yellow is a very saturated, very bright colour. If you want a secondary colour, then I would look for something that’s unsaturated (less colourful, closer to grey), darker (to offer more contrast to the brightness of the yellow), and is a friendly colour to yellow: green or orange. Since your tau have blue skin, green should be easy on the eyes, orange will really make their skin pop out.

So, a super dark green, perhaps? I would like to keep everything else pretty gritty (the yellow is going to get a nuln oil wash too. But then I'll repaint the silver in the armour cracks. Not sure how it will look, but still!

Just make sure it’s unsaturated green. If you’ve got a really green paint there, it’ll look really obnoxious.

Right, so, I'm colourblind. Which green is an unsaturated one? Or do you mean whichever green I pick, it will need to be mixed with black? Or...?

these colours (or close enough) could work. It’s the best I could do with the paints I had available to me :P

I love what you have here. Its unique and stands put. The yellow looks dirty, but it looks good dorty. Its a kill team member, not a squad member on parade. Great job!

Thanks man. I don't feel the silver parts of the armour are really working as I wanted. Any ideas for another colour?

Hi guys. I like the skin I've got, and I like the yellow bits. But the dark metal didn't work out quite as I expected so now I'm looking for ideas. What could my secondary armour colour be? I was going to keep the fatigues black and just do a grey highlight when I get to them.
