two small french streets
—every symbolic building mismatched in height,
are connected together with two breaths of faux-copper,
hardened and melded together into tortuous syncopation.
the concrete streets merge at four obelisks of light
one hundred and eighty centimeters proper.
each day eighty-eight measures duration
kept in 
time by
staccattoed ivory fingers.

two small french streets
divided by a lopsided sidewalk.
to the untrained eye, 
indistinguishable from another.
to the parisian citizen,
a cacophony of improvisation.
