Only From Within
My shoulders hold a cloak of evil,
it blows not in the wind,
invisible to others,
seen only from within.
My hands are gloved in darkness,
I know not what they do,
frantically at work,
with my shadow out of view.
My throat hides a demon,
it chokes me when I sleep,
and in the hours that I'm awake,
it struggles just to speak.
Know me for who I am,
and surely you will run,
loving such a man,
isn't loving anyone.
Know me for who I am,
paint portraits of my sin,
just know that the true me,
is seen only from within.
