Curious about more information concerning sexing (xpost w/ intersex)
Looking for a kind of Genealogy/history of sexing. Specifically how physical sex is established in modern Western countries, and how it was historically, the medicolegal framework and how it has changed over time. Obviously this (Sexing) can have important ramifications for intersex and transgender people. I'm also interested in the actual process of sexual differentation.
Mainly I'm curious how sexing itself is both an empirical process, as well as a moralizing process, that holds certain genital configurations as being 'good', or of greater value than other 'bad' configurations.
My main intent is to better understand sex as a category of differentation, as well as to better lay bare the implicit assumptions of sex as producing a discrete binary, and whether there is a better way to consider sex, if sex is a category intrinsic to gender, or vice-versa.
So books or solid online resources please, thoughts on this topic are also greatly appreciated.

Honestly ? A lot of this comes down to : I don't like it so I don't want to acknowledge it. A lot comes from views of straight cis people and is conjecture from their points of view. A pure scientific viewpoint is rather rare. Power structures have become increasingly patriarchal with people at the top deciding what they like, and what not. Its reflected in what people found acceptable etc.
Only now scientific views start to have more and more of an influence. Here are some resources :
