The Way Home
Along my way paths opened before me,
I don’t know the way, it is not clear to me.
I peer down the paths and make my choice,
Start my walk and look all around me…
The path is new, fresh and unknown,
Maybe I have found the way home…
The birds and bugs all have a voice,
They speak to me so I don’t feel alone.
The canopy blocks most of the sunlight,
Some rays shine through for plants to grow right.
A gentle breeze rustles the leaves,
I shiver as I remember the cool of the night.
I continue through the turns and twigs,
Wondering if home even exists.
I have been meandering for so long,
But now is no time to reminisce.
I want to be home not on the road,
And be at peace so I can unload.
There is something up ahead just in sight,
The forest opens up to show me a crossroad.
Along my way paths opened before me,
I don’t know the way, it is not clear to me.
I peer down the paths and make my choice,
Start my walk…
Maybe I have found my way home…
