We will be honoring the existing bounties once 1.0 is finished and we can figure out who gets what. The problem is that pretty much everyone has worked on pretty much all of these so we just need to negotiate it among ourselves.

I wonder if this could be used for doing the windows positioning that wine reportedly needs in order to be ported to wayland (from what i understand from the demo, positioning in some arbitrary coordinate is not possible).
While I don't see myself using Wayland in the next couple of years, mainly because my setup (X.org, xmonad, xmobar, xbindkeys, compton, ...) has been working incredibly well for me for many years now, I really appreciate the work he and all others working on wlroots etc. are doing. They seem to be the only driving force within Wayland which actively works towards standards flexible enough to build whole desktop systems out of many smaller interchangeable tools (docks, panels, wallpaper managers, notification systems, ...), like it was possible on X.org.
A little while ago we sponsored Drew to come to our last Plasma development sprint and gave him a helping hand with putting together his Qt demo client lib for using the layer-shell protocol, and just generally talk Wayland things and mutual concerns together. I think was fruitful for all involved. We honestly haven't had time to look more deeply into implementing the protocol yet due to all the things going on, but in principle we still think it's a good idea.
