[Suggestion] Alterac Valley should adopt from Warfronts (hear me out)
Change is controversial. Always.. it doesn't matter if the change would be good or bad, people will be scared of it. And I get it, but I think when it comes to Alterac Valley change needs to happen. And what better time to start brain-storming these changes than now, as Classic is drawing closer and closer. It's time to bring Alterac Valley more in lines with current World of Warcraft instead of lingering with a dated battleground made for Vanilla. Let's introduce some modern features to help improve and hopefully enhance the experience.
Modern features like what we see in Warfronts. Like it or hate it, Alterac Valley is basically the OG Warfront that's actually PvP. And I think the battleground could ascend to a new spot in peoples hearts if the more forgotten about mechanics such as looting and turning in items were encouraged more with icons on the map showing progress as seen in Warfronts. Or simply just an easier way to turn in, instead of having to turn in 5 or 1 Storm Crystals at a time to work towards summoning Ivus.
But let's back up... to even turn in players would have to run to their faction base all the way South/North for either side just to do so. And Alterac Valley is a pretty big map, it takes some time and dedication to do that. So why not allow the Flight-whistle to also work in Alterac Valley like it does in Warfronts. This would open a door for players to instead work towards summoning a massive boss, or even just smaller troops that would patrol the battle-ground as opposed to chipping down 700 resources (1 kill = 1 resource). These troops could open up a big enough push to secure towers in a more organised way, and really turn the tides for the game.
Adding visual incentives to turn in, I think, could greatly improve the flow of Alterac Valley. This battleground has so much potential to truly shine again in modern World of Warcraft. And what better time to revamp it with the new Warfront tech. It's visually easy to digest, and gives you a clear perspective of what should or could be worked towards to help win the game.
I wish I were good at Photoshop so I could maybe do a mock-up of what I'm thinking the map UI could look like for AV. I hope I could communicate my ideas clear enough though.
- TL;DR - Alterac Valley is bad right now. And I want people to realize how epic Alterac Valley can truly be when working towards a goal like Ivus for example. That's not very realistic as of now, people often don't loot bodies, or when they do they just don't turn in. I want to change that by adding visual incentives like what we see in Warfronts to encourage players to turn-in and show them the actual benefits of having more troops on your side instead of wasting 40+ minutes free-for-alling 700 resources.

Does the alterac insignia teleport people back to the turn point?
Teleports you to your factions base, so pretty close
Would that work better than flight whistle?
It's a trinket, and a very low level one at that, so no one is going to have it equipped all the time. So if you wanted to teleport you'd have to equip it then wait for the 30s timer on the on-use.
So yeah, I think the flight whistle would work better.
