Hide and Seek
Once upon a time
cat and mouse had just lived fine,
for the world, despite all races,
had filled itself with dearly places.
So when Tommy met his lovely cat,
he fell in love like no other rat
and given that he’s been a braver,
he managed fast to win Glenns favour.
But as night and day have ever shifted,
oh bloomy Love -- away you drifted
and those lovely words once shared,
twisted --
till no heart cared.
One day when Tommy felt so sick,
a Tramp, who appeared to be a queer old stick,
approached him to share one dark advice,
for the dice to roll in his favour twice:
"It’s said there’s a tree north of town
wielding greater magic along it’s thread,
dispelling doubts!
Begone! Your dread!
But beware! For everything what is to gain,
will end itself,
like rain will drain."
So Tommy rushed to tell the news:
"A cure! a hope! For this ol’ Blues!
A key to decrypt this nasty code!
Pack up your stuff! Let’s hit the road!"
And so they travelled to the tree
to ask about their dreadful fee
of who is who and who is me.
And so spoke the ol’ big oak tree:
“Oh dear fellows I can tell,
you drag along this worn out Shell
eroded by your fights to win,
but there is no softness where is no skin.
Now rest your eyes upon me,
so I shall help to set you free,
to realize your very peak,
the game to play --
is hide and seek.”
And the branches of the tree
embraced cat and mouse
loving tenderly --
Then: A fearsome hiss! A little shriek!
"Welcome to the world
of hide and seek."
