That's cool. What does it take to get funding for a velodrome these days? It can't be easy.

This was a rebuild project. 2/3 was federal park grants. 1/3 was private donations.

Hey man i love riding fixed gears and live in the STL area as well, whose going to be allowed to use it? I've never been on a velodrome before but i would love too.

It's in a public park. So it's free to ride any time when the sun is out. We haven't made an official announcement about the race season. But it will be a week night all summer.
I'll make sure to post the flyer as soon as it's ready.

Full tear out of the apron, minimal tear out of the old track, lay rebar, repave the track, full new wider apron.

I'm in STL 4-5 times a year - I will have to stop in and give it a spin.

This is so rad. Last time I was there was almost 3 years ago. I’ll have to actually come watch some races when it’s done.

I'm starting to emotionally cope with the fact that NSC is gone after this year. And we won't have a track for the foreseeable future in MN. I think I might quit bike racing? I'm not sure. We had our end of 2018 season, start of 2019 planning meeting on Wednesday and there was a lot of good energy surrounding this year, but also a lot of just like depressive energy floating around.
That said, we're trying to have a really big blow out race event (potentially like 3 day, thurs/fri/sat) to say goodbye to the track, if you're interested in traveling up.
