Desire (A Sonnet?)
A crimson ribbon tugs and tears my skin.
It stretches as far as you are and sticks.
Our souls are linked, but there is a kink in
the chain and it sinks like a ton of bricks.
Your soul deserves more than typic cliches.
Your jaw is like a knife dragged to whetstone.
Your eyes grip and cage me within your gaze;
one glance and my feelings are overgrown.
Let our fingers entwine, your mind unwind.
Let our lips graze, like the wind to a tree.
Let the images in my head resign,
for I am too weak to set myself free.
I just want to touch you, but I need you
to leave my mind; these thoughts I can't pursue.
