Reddit Weekly Wildcard Challenge

Ever wish you had a wildcard every week?

Many fantasy sites have a “weekly selection”, including Fantasy Football Scout and Official FPL Scout. If you think you could do better, here’s a mini league for you, run by u/stanleymanly3 and u/StacyVD.

Rules:

1. Everyone must take a -56 point hit every week (except for the first week you enter the league). This can be done by selling everyone in your team and buying the team you want. If you wish to keep some of your players, simply spend more transfers on one of your other team slots.

You can take more than -56 in point hits if you want — you won’t be compensated for anything more than -56, but it might be necessary in some cases, for example if your players suddenly got injured.

2. Your team value must not exceed 100m every week. This is to ensure that the game is about week-on-week picks and not long term ones.

3. Free hit and wildcard are not allowed.

4. Your team name must be your Reddit username. For example, my team name should be u/stanleymanly. This is to make it easier for us to tag and notify you should we require you to take a penalty, and also to ensure that you check Reddit somewhat regularly.

5. You are not allowed to make any transfers in the time between the deadline and the next set of price changes. This is to ensure that we have enough time to check your team value.

Penalties:

To ensure that league standings are accurately reflected, we will enforce point penalties in the form of extra hits. If we require you to take an additional hit, we will tag you in the weekly post. The penalties are subject to change if we feel they are too harsh/lenient. If we feel that you are not complying well enough with the rules, or if you fail to comply with the additional hits, you will be removed from the league.

• If you fail to take a -56 point hit, you will be asked to take more hits the next week to make up for the number.
• If your team value exceeds 100m, or you make a transfer between the deadline and the next price change, you will be asked to take an additional -8 hit the next gameweek.
• If you use your Free Hit or Wildcard, you will be removed from the league.
• If your team name is not your Reddit username, you will be removed from the league.

Please note that this week, you do not have to take a -56 point hit, for obvious reasons. However, your team value must still fall below 100m, so please double check before the deadline.
