"Please, Have You Seen My Daughter?"
His eyes on a sidewalk holding
a winter night’s fog,
a dark-haired girl,
a familiar red coat,
a walking surprise,
a shard of glass,
a loud yelp--
a neon horror.
A head hitting the pavement
to melt with the snow
into piercing noise
that will split his eyes
and shatter the moon.
