"But what do OOB collectors do with the boxes?" Box Flattening Visual & PSA
i recently broke down about 20 more pops so i decided i would post this in case it's of any use to anyone.
back when i had 100 or less pops, i was just sticking the empty pop boxes in plastic bins as well as loose, stacked boxes on the top shelf of the closet in my home office. i have one large blue bin that fits about 50-60 and then smaller plastic bins hold about 25 each. as i was inching closer to 200 and i ran out of bin space and top closet space was getting tight, i decided i'd start breaking down my boxes.
the boxes for any pops worth $20-$99 are in soft stacks and $100+ are in hard stacks. all of those pops are in my large blue bin. any pop worth less than $20 gets broken down. i label all the inserts with painters tape and stack them.
here's what it all looks like. first pic is in process. the second picture is one of the plastic bins. inside that bin is EVERY broken down pop box* plus some inserts. third pic is a box with only inserts. fourth pic is a thinner storage box, also only inserts and the fifth photo shows a close up of how the inserts stack. Final picture is everything. and there's still room in those boxes for more inserts/broken down boxes.
*basically, not all my pop boxes are broken down. any pop rides/movie moments are above the closet and there's some things i'm thinking of getting rid of to downsize/make room for new stuff (riverdale/stranger things) that are up top in the closet still. anything that is currently listed for sale elsewhere is up in the closet, too. i also keep "seasonal" pops up in the closet (halloween/christmas).
edit: WHOA my first gold! <3 <3 thanks!
