To be honest Wally's largest impediment has been Bonti coming in. Before the Bont it was between Wally & Roughead (both of whom could have been good captains), but their injuries combined with an obvious choice like the Bont put a stop to that. Wally can still play a huge role, & Roughy will be a good leader at Collingwood regardless of whether he plays.

If Wallis didn't struggle so much with form since his leg break, I would've said he'd make a future captain. Plus there's no doubting the positive influence Trengove has on the players, so both these additions make a lot of sense. Good to see
