They probably feel terrible streaming with half the viewers spamming “when Fortuna?” while the stream is just doing something random or talking. It’s quite slow on consoles right now. We are quite an impatient bunch and DE is VERY aware of everyone on console feeling left out of all the new stuff. It’s one of the biggest issues Warframe has in my opinion, and it really kills the hype for lots of players. It seems like an impossible problem to solve at this point. Do you make everyone wait and release updates later with potentially more bugs, or do you keep this update schedule where half the players are done with new content before it goes to everyone else? Personally, I regret playing on PS4 but it’s too late now I’ve played so long and have so much stuff that I’d rather wait a month longer than restart and do it all again. I think at some point this update schedule is going to change because you can see how much it’s stressing them out when they cancel 2 console live-streams back to back.
I stopped watching the devstreams because I got tired of seeing stuff about content we don't have and don't expect to have for a while. If they're stressing themselves out with their decision-making and their own schedule, it's kinda their problem and their issue to fix.
DE is great, make no mistake, but the console release delays being as long as they are is a serious mood killer. Took 'em a six week delay to issue consoles Plague Star recently, and that was already-made content.
I already know what kitgun I want and how I'm going to level rep and I don't even have Fortuna lol, many others too.
I'd been playing on PS4 off and on, since the launch five years ago. This summer, I was toying with the idea of making the jump to PC for several reasons, the latest being the release of "The Sacrifice" and the long wait for it make its way over to consoles. Like you, I was reluctant to leave all my stuff behind — I had all the Prime frames, most of the weapons, and, heck, I'd just bought a digital Tennocon ticket on the platform.
But, around Tennocon, DE was giving away Ash Prime and Twitch was running that promotion with Trinity Prime and I decided to use those to jumpstart a PC account. It was kinda surprising how fast you can progress when you know what you're doing — always have gear cooking the Foundry, or not getting sidetracked — and I made it to MR10 in as many days. A month in, and I had progressed further in Focus, Amps, and Arcanes than I'd ever managed on the PS4. It's late autumn now and I'm ready to hit MR18, doing Arbitrations and soloing ESO like it ain't no thang. I originally planned on seeing how far I could get without spending a cent, but one of those Platinum coupons wore me down and the Mag/Nova Unvaulting just had too much good stuff to pass up.
So, making the jump might not suck as bad as you imagine. If nothing else, make a PC account, rack up logins, and take advantage of things like the Twitch promotion to start filling it up stuff. That way, once you do make the jump you'll already have accumulated a bit of gear for a minute's time each day.
(I still play with a DualShock controller, though!)
