What's going on with the whole outrage about Highest-paid Youtubers of 2018?

Ive been seeing some posts on twitter saying that women aren't paid as much? and some people claiming women aren't on any lists due to youtube being againsts women or something? Im just so confused on whats actually going on. Are they really underpaid? Do they really not get many views? Idk, help pls because I don't want to dumpster twitter toxic comment section.This is what people are talking about yet I don't know why. Is it really that big of a deal?
