Crime and Punishment bug?

So I just arrived at an outpost station with a 1200Cr bounty, docked and then paid my bounty off in the contacts. Next thing I know, I have been detected for having said bounty and shipped off 200Ly to the nearest detention centre. Is this correct or have I been swindled?
