Best Counterplay to some of the higher tier killers?

Killers like Clown, Billy, (arguably) Spirit, etc.

Huntress is obvious enough, dodge hatchets, Nurse, dodge the Nurse. As in, never meet them, ever. Some killers are obvious, too, in lower tiers, such as don't stand in the open regarding Michael or Bubba, loop the Wraith or Doctor, exist against Freddy. However, I find trouble countering some of the more skill-based killers on the survivor level.
