Sound not working, Tobii Dynavox running windows 10

The audio stopped working on my client's communication device yesterday and I'm trying to fix it myself because last time we sent it to the company it took weeks to get back. I ran the troubleshooter several times and usually nothing came up, but one time it said the problem was "generic audio driver," but gave no indication as to what that meant or how to fix it. The audio driver is Realtek HD.

Here's a list of what I've tried:

• Restarting the computer
• Disabling audio enhancements
• Updating the driver
• Reinstalling the driver
• Downloading the software from realtek's website and installing that
• Downloading driver management software that was of no help and just wanted money
• Swearing at it
• Resetting BIOS to default

I don't think it's a hardware problem because whenever it turns on it beeps. It doesn't do the windows startup sound, but it never did in the first place. It doesn't make any other sounds, music, videos, the sound it usually makes when you turn the volume up or down, just a little beep when it turns on. There's no sound with headphones either, though I've only tried AUX cord, not bluetooth. There were no issues with sound quality or anything until it stopped working.

Does anyone know what's wrong? Or at least have a suggestion for what to try next?
