FaceTime/VPN draining all my battery

So I have had the xr for about 3 weeks now and the battery has been great but today I noticed it was draining insanely fast. I only had 1.5 hrs screen on time and it was at 31% which is unusual. I looked in my battery usage and it said FaceTime used 46% of my battery even though I didn’t even have the application open and rarely use FaceTime. So I deleted the FaceTime app and then went to school the next day and used it for about 50 minutes screen on time just doing casual things like browsing Instagram or reddit with a VPN on while I was using it and it was at 46% which is ridiculous for 50 mins screen on time. And then I checked later and it said VPN was 42% of my battery in the last 24 hours. So I’m just wondering what’s going on and if you guys have any suggestions for what I should do?
