Long overdue achievement: rewatched Plastic Memories

SpoilerDiscussion

Since my initial watch of Plastic Memories, I don't remember much. Therefore, I set myself to the task of rewatching it, and I recently finished rewatching Plastic Memories. Let me start off by saying this: it was such a beautifully crated anime. If you haven't watched, wtf i marked this with spoiler you absolute loser go and watch it, then come back.

The way the story progresses is beautiful, and the stunning ability to not only weave in character development, make the anime fun AND keep the plot intact throughout is probably the most stunning of the anime. The way it progresses makes you almost forget about the fact that Isla only had a one month lifespan left, but the anime reminds you of it in emotionally painful ways. Albeit emotionally painful, the constant reminders of the "one month lifespan" make the anime that much better.

The ending was absolutely beautiful. I can't stop rewatching the last episode, and it brings tears to my eyes just typing this. The amusement park almost makes you forget about the fact that its their last day together, but there are very small but obvious reminders of what is to happen. The ferris wheel scene was so beautifully crafted, and brought tears of both happiness and sadness.

The actual animation of the story was also beautiful. With such attention to detail about the settings and the landscape, especially in scenes like the Ferris Wheel and the fireworks.

(Random Thought) While the first, and only season of right now, was beautiful, I don't believe that it needs another season. An OVA would be nice, and kinda add a fun little bit to the anime, but a second season doesn't seem necessary. The first season ended beautifully, and obviously had a lot of hard work put into it. I think where it ends is possibly the best ending I could've asked for. It doesn't have any cliche stuff like "oh look isla just HAPPENS to be able to live longer than normal", rather it finds a way to mix in the reality of the Giftias with a beautiful ending full of emotion. (End of Random Thought)

I do have a question: in the very last scene (post-credits), when Tsukasa meets his new partner, could that possibly be the body of Isla?

I look forward to reading your comments.

Again, if for some dumb reason you read this and haven't watched the anime, it's not too late. I can only tell so much through text, and it's more fun to be watched than just read about.

p.s. isla and eru just happened to be there, okay?
