What helped to relieve my anxiety before taking the NCLEX
Hi everyone!
I just took my NCLEX today and wanted to share what helped relieve my anxiety before taking the test. Yesterday I was an nervous wreck because I was constantly thinking, "What if I fail? I don't know if I prepared enough.." etc. My test shut off at 75 questions (did the pearson vue trick 2 hours later and got the good pop up! I hope I passed)
What helped me the most with my anxiety was knowing how the test works. When taking your NCLEX, the computer needs to be 95% confident that you are answering the medium difficulty questions correct at least 50% of the time in order to pass. This video does a good job in explaining the test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYw3wL0EopQ&t=106s
Try to avoid the negative thoughts and be confident in your abilities! You will never feel prepared stepping in to test, so don't let your nerves get the best of you! Remember, this test is on YOUR side. The national pass rate (in the U.S.) is 89%. (Source: https://www.ncsbn.org/Table_of_Pass_Rates_2018.pdf)
I hope this helps ease your anxiety a little bit!
