So excited!!!!

Guys! I'm new to Reddit and it never dawned on me this forum would exist! THIS IS AHHMMAAAAAZZIIIIING.

So for my first MIL rant we'll start with a general overview... My favorite insane things my mother in law has done (after 2 kids I've stopped being polite daughter in law and now slam these down the minute they happen)

-first time watching ds1 at around 6 months, we were at a wedding and they left early and took baby with them, reminded no blanket in crib (seemed necessary to remind because it was cold and we did permit car seat blanket). She skipped the blanket and LOOSELY WRAPPED HIM IN AN OLD BATH TOWEL.

-frequently gives variations of how lucky I am dh helps because in her day, women worked full time and did everything....

-im so lucky I can cook whatever because husband isn't a picky eater...

-had to be reminded it wasn't ok to refer to herself and fil as Mommy and Daddy to OUR son.

-general child abandoning, children MUST stay home because I'm visiting... Sleeps in till 9, showers and styles until 10, wants to play for 30 minutes, then check her email and go for some air. Is confused that the children want lunch already at 11:30. Also will insist on holding or playing with them, then just randomly walk away and leaving crying toddler or baby alone... And responds "oh I just always let my babies cry... Which is true, dh remembers being in a crib up until about school age and that he'd be set in the crib with a bucket of Legos alone for long periods of time...

-dh just turned 30. There was SO MUCH crying

Just so so much.

The declined coming for Thanksgiving but invited themselves for new year's...
