Trophy Management

I've read a bunch about bankroll management but cannot find anything on trophy management. Is there any benefit or negative to losing a bunch of trophies on T3 to drop 100 trophies before kicking off T5 just to keep the level down for tournaments and easier opponents? I never play T3 or T1 and have been grinding T4 for cash and T2 for EM cards. Thoughts?
